Elizabeth Alexandra Marry officially Elizabeth II, by the Grace of God, of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and of her other realms and territories Queen Head of Commonwealth, Defender of the faith, (born April 21,1926 London – died September 8,2022, Balmoral castle, Aberdeen Shire, Scotland ) queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland from February 6 , 1952 to September 8, 2022. Her reign of 70 years and 214 is the longest of British monarchy and also longest of any female head of the state.
Elizabeth was born in Mayfair, London as the younger daughter of the Duke and Duchess of York, late king George VI and Queen Elizabeth. After her father accended to the throne in 1936 upto the abdication of his brother, King Edwaed VII, making Elizabeth II the hier presumptive. She was educated privately at home and also began to undertake public duties during the second world war. She married Phillip Mountbattle, a former prince of Greece and Denmark. They had four children, where younger son Charles II who was the new king of Great Britain after the death of his mother.
After the death of her father in February, 1952 at the age of 25 years old, she become queen of seven independent commonwealth countries : United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Pakistan and Sir Lanka as well as the head of commonwealth.
Significant events including Elizabeth’s coronation in 1953 and the celebrations of her Silver, Golden, Diamond and Platinum jubilees in 1977, 2002, 2012 and 2022, respectively. After Louis XIV of France, Queen Elizabeth was the second longest reigning sovereign in the world history.
In the opinion of public Queen Elizabeth II had an excellent rating, queen has an approval rate in United Kingdom of 90 %. According to the survey of YouGov, she was the most admired person with the highest percentage of all candidates. Internationally she was the 17th most admired person in the world. Condolences have poured in from around the world for the death of Queen Elizabeth II .
